“It’s All About Jesus!”
Jesus & the Man Born Blind (John 9)
“We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. The night is coming, and then no one can work. But while I am here in the world, I am the light of the world.” – John 9:4-5 (NLT)
“Don’t Miss Your Open Windows”
Jesus & the Man Born Blind (John 9)

“Don’t Miss Your Open Windows”
Have you ever noticed how quickly windows open and close? You get an opportunity, but you don’t take it. You wait. You’re afraid. You’re too busy with other things. You doubt yourself. Fill in the blank with your favorite excuse. But before you know it, the window closes, and the opportunity is gone. That’s when the regret kicks in.
Sometimes those windows are Big Deals. Like knowing you should make more time for your kids. You keep telling yourself you will. You keep promising them you will. But there always seems to be one more project, one more need to attend to, or one more “something” you have to finish. Then one day you look up, and your kids are grown. The window is closed. You can try to “catch up,” but you know you never can. The same is true with spending time with aging parents, going to see old friends, or doing something special for someone who has been significant in your life. It feels like you have lots of time to do it. But you don’t. You have NOW.
Jesus points out that the same is true when it comes to doing ministry, touching lives, or letting God use you. Jesus was not only keenly aware of His mission, He was also very aware of the closing window of time that He had to accomplish that mission. When He saw needs, He stepped up and took care of them. Because His eye was not only on the crowds and their concerns, it was on the cross and the impending end of His time on earth. So, when His Father prompted Him to move, He moved. “The night is coming,” He told His disciples. Move while the window is open.
How about YOU? Are you aware of the open windows around you? Do you have some “Big Deal” windows that you know you need to make time for but have been excusing yourself from acting on? Are you also looking for, listening for, and responding to the “God promptings” that He is giving you? Windows aren’t open forever. Night is coming, and the opportunities will pass. What a shame it would have been if Jesus had just walked by this blind man because He was “too busy.” Windows open, windows close. Make sure you don’t miss yours! That’s God’s Word for you today.
