What an incredibly powerful passage and promise today! This is a verse that many of you will want to write down and post on your refrigerator or keep at your desk. Read the verse again out loud, and let the hope and encouragement it brings wash over you.
God is your shield today. He is your Great Defender. Some of you have been under attack by people around you, and you need to know that you are not alone. People have said harsh things, ugly things, and untrue things. Their words can be like sharp daggers that can cut you to the core. But YOU are a Child of God! He is your Father and the Only One who gets to define you. Let the words of others bounce off what you know is true about yourself and the identity that Christ has given you.
God is your glory. The Enemy will want to tell you that you are worthless, insignificant, and have no value. But he says that out of fear that you will discover who you really are! The Spirit of God lives in you. You are of infinite value, having been purchased by the precious blood of Christ Jesus Himself. You are gifted, called, and commissioned by God for GREAT THINGS. Your life shines with the glory of God because the Eternal Flame of His Spirit burns in you and shines through you. You, my friend, are a life that MATTERS!
Let God lift your head today. You cannot hang your head in defeat for the Lord is your Victory! Don’t look at the road behind you because it doesn’t matter where you’ve been. It only matters where you’re going. Don’t look down in discouragement. Look up in praise! God has seen you through difficult times before, and He will see you through this time as well. Lift up your head, and focus on The One who walks before you. Lift up your head, and declare that you are of Royal birth. Lift up your head, and know that you have a future, a destiny, and an eternity ahead of you. God is your Shield. God is your Glory. God lifts your head today. And if HE lifts you up, let NOTHING bring you down! That’s God’s Word for you today.
