Powerful Words from the Prophets
“In the last days, the mountain of the LORD’s house will be the highest of all—the most important place on earth. It will be raised above the other hills, and people from all over the world will stream there to worship. People from many nations will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of Jacob’s God. There he will teach us his ways, and we will walk in his paths.” – Isaiah 2:2-3 (NLT)
“God Is on the Move!”

“God Is on the Move!”
America is battling for an identity. I think we all feel it. We’ve thought of ourselves as a “Christian Nation,” but nations aren’t Christian. People are. I think sometimes it feels, when we hear and see so many people hold up values and ideas that are contrary to our faith, that God is losing. But it only FEELS that way. God’s already won. We just lose sight of that.
Our passage today is a great reminder of that victory. Isaiah writes these words from God to a people who are about to be thrown into exile because they disobeyed God. The exile would feel like the end. But it wasn’t. They would come back to Jerusalem. Eventually, Jesus would come. He would be the beginning of the “last days.” And the work of God and the people of God would begin to spread around the world. That move of God continues to expand. In some places, it’s absolutely EXPLODING.
Consider these latest statistics. Christianity is expected to surpass 3 billion in number worldwide by 2050. The greatest growth is happening in Africa and Asia. Africa alone has grown from just 10 million believers in 1900 to 734 million today. That’s more than TWICE the entire population of the U.S.!! The crazy thing is that Christianity is growing most rapidly in places that are predominantly non-Christian. The New Testament, which is in 2400 languages now, is set be in 4200 languages by 2050.
Isaiah’s prophecy is unfolding before our eyes. People from all over the world are streaming to the Lord. So take heart today. Don’t grow discouraged by loud voices that proclaim God is dead. He is NOT! He is very much alive and moving among us. Let’s pray that the revival that’s happening in other parts of the world will happen again right here in our country. Jesus has already won the war. Victorious Holy Spirit, move among us! That’s God’s Word for you today.
