“It’s All About Jesus!”
Jesus & the Harvest (Matt 9:35-38)
“When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” – Matthew 9:36 (NLT)
“You Have a Shepherd”
Jesus & the Harvest (Matt 9:35-38)
“When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” – Matthew 9:36 (NLT)
“You Have a Shepherd”
You have a Shepherd. He is here to rescue you. No matter how far you have strayed. No matter what kind of crevice of sin you have fallen into. No matter how tattered your wool, dirty your skin or dark your soul has become. The Shepherd’s Arm can reach you no matter where you are. If you call out to Him, He will lift you out, clean you up, and carry you home. If you’re lost and tired of being on your own, you have a Shepherd.
You have a Shepherd. He is here to be your Guide. He knows how difficult life can be and how confusing it is at times to find your way. You don’t have to figure life out on your own. If you seek Him, He will show you the path that He has prepared for you. If you follow Him, He will lead you to where you need to be. He doesn’t promise an easy journey, but He does promise you won’t be alone. Wondering where to go? You have a Shepherd.
You have a Shepherd. He has come to protect you and watch over you. He knows that the Evil seeks to devour you. He knows that there are wolves in this world who want to deceive you, mislead you, and take advantage of you. That’s why Jesus wants you to stay close to Him and heed His words of instruction. His wisdom will keep you from places and people who would hurt you. His Word will protect you from YOURSELF. Want to walk in safety and security? You have a Shepherd.
When you read our passage today, Jesus makes the observation that the people were so confused and helpless because they didn’t have a Shepherd. That’s why He came to them. In John 10 Jesus stated it clearly: “I am the Good Shepherd.” That’s also why He’s come to you. You are not alone in this world of pain and sorrow. You have a Rescuer. You have a Guide. You have a Protector. YOU have a Shepherd. That’s God’s Word for you today.
