“It’s All About Jesus!”
Jesus and the Official’s Son (John 4:43-54)
The official pleaded, “Lord, please come now before my little boy dies.” Then Jesus told him, “Go back home. Your son will live!” And the man believed what Jesus said and started home. – John 4:49-50 (NLT)

“Faith Walks”
Are you a waiter or a walker? That’s my question for you today. Fear and doubt have a paralytic quality about them. They want to be SURE. They want to SEE. They want to have some kind of evidence to assure them that things are going to be okay. They often get frozen right where they are until they do.
Faith walks. Faith hears what God says and ACTS on it. Faith is not foolish or careless. It does not take unnecessary risks or take arrogant jumps and expect God to intervene. But faith does BELIEVE. And when it knows it has heard from God, faith takes comfort in that and moves forward accordingly.
The father in our story today comes to Jesus, pleading for his son. He pours out his heart and waits for Jesus to respond. Jesus replies with, “Go back home. Your son will live!” Notice what the father DIDN’T DO. He didn’t wait. He didn’t tell Jesus to give him some “sign” for assurance. He didn’t wring his hands, pace the floor, and stay where he was because he was too afraid that Jesus wasn’t telling him the truth. What DID the man do? He put his faith into action. “The man believed what Jesus said and started home.”
Has God spoken to you? Have you heard God say, “Go,” and yet you’re still waiting for more confirmation? Stop waiting for a “sign.” Stop waiting for the assurance that it’s all going to be okay. Stop living in fear and doubt and letting your lack of faith rob you of all that God has for you. If God has spoken, BELIEVE Him. If God has spoken, He will DO what He says. If God has spoken, GET MOVING! Don’t be a “waiter,” be a WALKER! That’s God’s Word for you today.
