“It’s All About Jesus!”
“The Woman at the Well”
Many Samaritans from the village believed in Jesus because the woman had said, “He told me everything I ever did!” When they came out to see him, they begged him to stay in their village. So he stayed for two days, long enough for many more to hear his message and believe. Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not just because of what you told us, but because we have heard him ourselves. Now we know that he is indeed the Savior of the world.” – John 4:39-42 (NLT)
“Be the One”

Two years ago, at the World Domino Collective, a group of domino enthusiasts set up the longest domino fall line ever. It was an amazing display of artwork and scenes that took two weeks to set up. The final count was over 750,000 dominos. When they let them fall, it took several minutes for the dominos to run their course. I can’t even imagine the kind of patience and creativity it took to create it. You can watch it for yourself on this YouTube link: https://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=Fw_vsBu7ewA.
But if you watch it, notice how many dominos it took to start that massive exhibit to begin to fall. Just. One. One lonesome domino topples over and eventually over 750,000 follow suit. That’s the power of being The One.
That’s what we discover in our story today. One woman began an entire move of God in a village. She was no one in particular. In fact, in many ways, she would be considered the most unlikely of people for God to choose. She was a woman with a past. A woman with no particular skills, gifts, or talents. She had no position of power or influence. She was simply someone who had met Jesus and didn’t know any better than to share what He had done for her with anyone who would listen. And you know what? MANY listened. As a result of her influence, Jesus stayed two more days in that Samaritan town…“Long enough for many more to hear his message and believe.” She was the One Domino who fell before Jesus and caused many more to fall as well.
That’s what we need, you know. Those “One Domino” people. We need them in our families. We need them in our schools. We need them in our companies, on our teams, and in our neighborhoods. Not people of exceptional talent. Just people who have been transformed by Jesus and aren’t afraid to share with others what Jesus has done for them. I wonder how many people might be changed by the power of God if we stopped waiting for someone else to do something and just decided that maybe Jesus is counting on US.
