“It’s All About Jesus!”
“The Woman at the Well”
The woman left her water jar beside the well and ran back to the village, telling everyone, “Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did! Could he possibly be the Messiah?” So the people came streaming from the village to see him. – John 4:28-30 (NLT)

“What’s Your Heart Full Of?”
Social media is both a wonderful tool and a terrible weapon. It can be used to bless, encourage, and share, or it can be used to attack, annoy, or complain. Some posts make you laugh. Others make you think. Still others make you wish you’d never turned on your computer or opened the app on your phone. Ugly and beautiful, uplifting and discouraging, God-honoring and evil-promoting…it’s all there. Many people condemn social media. But social media is not the problem. It’s the people using it. In Luke 6:45, Jesus says, “The mouth speaks what the heart is full of.” Posts on social media don’t tell you about social media. It tells you about the people who are posting.
The reason I’m talking about this is because the woman at the well, after her encounter with Jesus, used her social media to talk about her day. Her social media avenue wasn’t Facebook, Instagram, X, or TikTok. It was her mouth. And she got a lot of attention with it. Our passage today says that she told EVERYONE. But here’s the part that I want you to get. What was her heart so full of that she had to blast her community with it? Jesus. She had just had this life-changing encounter with The Master, and she couldn’t wait to let everybody know. The result of her social media blitz wasn’t people slamming their doors or running the other way. It said, “So the people came streaming from the village to see him.” Now THAT’S the kind of post I love to read!
So, what are YOU posting these days? What’s coming out of your mouth? Are you cussing and fussing, or are you caring and sharing? Are you filling the community with more hate, ugliness, and negativity, or are you giving them Jesus? “The mouth speaks what the heart is full of.” So, I guess the real question is, what’s your heart full of? I hope people start streaming to Jesus because of YOU! That’s God’s Word for you today.
