“It’s All About Jesus!”
Jesus & Nicodemus
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16 (NIV)
“Love Gives”

“Love Gives”
Love gives. Take that thought with you today. In a world where we are surrounded by “takers,” let’s remember that love gives. Our verse today, probably the most famous verse in the Bible, highlights it for us in a powerful way. But the giving of Jesus is just one in a long list of how God has given. Think about it. God gave us life. He gave us His Word. He gave us His Holy Spirit. He gave us redemption. He gave us hope. He gave us joy, peace, satisfaction, healing, wholeness, purpose…the list is endless. But it only makes sense, doesn’t it? 1 John 4:8 tells us that “God is love.” And love gives.
God gave first. God gave best. God gives personally, sacrificially, and endlessly. In every relationship, in every circumstance, in every way imaginable, God gives. It is the heart and essence of what love is. 1 Corinthians 13, “The Love Chapter,” tells us that love takes no thought of itself, but thinks of others. Love is always looking for ways to give.
So here’s the question. How are you letting God give through YOU? Don’t blow this question off. Process it carefully. How are you giving to your spouse? How are you giving to your family? Is your presence in your home a constant source of enrichment because of all you’re giving to them? Are you giving them encouragement? Are you giving them acceptance? Are you giving them affirmation? Are you giving them patience, forgiveness, and grace?
When I read our verse today, I was overwhelmed by all that God has given to me. I want to not only live as He lived, I want to give as He gives. I want to add value to the lives of those around me. I want their lives to be richer, fuller, and more blessed because I have been a part of it. I don’t want to spend my life simply being a taker. I want to love as God has loved me. And love GIVES. That’s God’s Word for you today.
