“It’s All About Jesus!”
Jesus & the Wedding in Cana
Standing nearby were six stone water jars, used for Jewish ceremonial washing. Each could hold twenty to thirty gallons. Jesus told the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” When the jars had been filled, he said, “Now dip some out, and take it to the master of ceremonies.” So the servants followed his instructions. – John 2:6-8 (NLT)

“An Unpredictable Path”
The road to a miracle is an unpredictable path. God often chooses the most unlikely of characters to work through. He will often use methods or procedures that seem strange, if not ridiculous. Though you can’t argue with His outcomes, the path He takes to get there often leaves us scratching our heads.
Take the deliverance out of Egypt for an example. Which of us would have charted a path THROUGH the Red Sea? That wasn’t on ANYONE’S GPS. Or how about the destruction of Jericho? “March around the city once a day for six days, and on the seventh day march around it seven times.” What military school would have THAT strategy in their book on the art of war? Or how about Joseph’s path to success? Betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery, lied about by Potiphar’s wife and thrown in prison, forgotten by the baker and cupbearer he helped, and then elevated to Number 2 in all of Egypt. Not exactly the career path that any of us would choose. And now here we are with Jesus telling the servants to take six huge jars, fill them with water, and take a cup of THAT to the master of ceremonies. Who is so drunk they can’t tell the difference between water and wine? It was CRAZY.
I remind you of this because some of you are discouraged about the path you’re on. Your healing isn’t happening like you want it to happen. You’ve been praying for a miracle in your relationships and things have gone from bad to worse. You’ve been telling God how you want to go THIS way and now you’re going THAT way. Like all of the heroes we talked about earlier, you’re mad, you’re frustrated, you’re discouraged, and maybe you’re losing faith. But don’t. Just because God is taking you a different way, your road has taken an unexpected turn, or He is asking you to do things that don’t make sense to you, stay with Him. He knows what He’s doing, He knows where He’s going, and He knows where YOU need to be. God’s path isn’t just about the destination. It’s about shaping YOU along the way. And that’s the part of the miracle that most of us never ask Him for. But it’s the one we need the most. That’s God’s Word for you today.
