“It’s All About Jesus!”
Jesus On Worry
“Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?” – Matthew 6:26 (NLT)

“Enjoy the Adventure!”
One of my favorite action/adventure movie series is Indiana Jones. If you’ve been living in a cave and never seen them, Indiana Jones is an archeologist whose passion is finding lost treasures, especially those with mythical, magical powers. He’s always having to fight off the bad guys who are trying to get them and use them for world domination. The action scenes are ridiculous feats of jumping out of moving vehicles and airplanes, dodging boobytraps, and escaping from impossible places. But despite all his superhuman challenges, his favorite words to his companions who are along for the adventure are, “Trust me.” And true to form, no matter what danger they face, he sees them through every time.
Sounds like God, doesn’t it? God invites us to join him on this crazy adventure through life. He doesn’t promise an easy road. He doesn’t promise hammocks in the shade or a stroll down Easy Street. He’s very clear that life will be hard, dangerous, and exhausting. But His words to us along the way are the same as Indiana Jones. “Trust me.” If you’ve walked with God for a while, you’ve discovered that God lives up to His Word. No matter what we face, He sees us through every time. Jesus reminds us in our passage today that we are PRECIOUS to God. There is nothing our God won’t do on our behalf. He loves us more than this beautiful world He created. He loves us more than the amazing animals He made and the beautiful birds in the sky. He loves us more than LIFE. Jesus reminds us that if God takes care of His creation, and He does, then you can count on God taking care of you.
Camp on this thought today: Worry, at the heart, is a TRUST issue. If faith is putting ourselves in the Hands of God, believing He will take care of us, then worry is putting ourselves in our own hands and believing we have to do it all ourselves. So, here’s the 60-million-dollar question. Do you TRUST God? Do you believe He loves you? Do you believe He’s with you? Today, take all your worries and place them in the Hands of God. Remember His love, remember His promise, and listen to the sound of His voice as He smiles and says, “Trust me.” Then hang on and enjoy the adventure! That’s God’s Word for you today.
