“It’s All About Jesus!”
Luke 19:38-48 (The Triumphant Entry)
But as he came closer to Jerusalem and saw the city ahead, he began to weep. “How I wish today that you of all people would understand the way to peace.” – Luke 19:41-42 (NLT)
“Jesus Weeps for You”

“Jesus Weeps for You”
This is such a beautiful passage of scripture. It shows once again the tender, gracious heart of God. Here is Jesus, coming into a city that is about to turn on Him, beat Him, and crucify Him. But instead of riding in with a heart full of condemnation and vengeance, He comes with a heart full of compassion and sorrow. So much so that as He draws near, He weeps.
Camp on that thought for a while today. When you get all wrapped up in yourself and seek only your will and your way, Jesus weeps over you. When you get angry with Him because He didn’t answer a prayer the way you wanted Him to or open a particular door you wanted to be opened and you turn away from Him, Jesus weeps over you. When you buy into the Enemy’s lies and you chase after pleasure instead of joy, position instead of purpose, and the things of earth rather than the things of heaven, Jesus weeps over you. When you let your anger separate you from your friends and family, when you let addictions take over your life, or when you let petty disputes cause you to walk away from the fellowship of other believers, Jesus weeps over you. When you become so self-consumed that you become blind to the feelings, the pain, and the needs of those around you, Jesus weeps over you. When you lose sight of God and lose touch with His presence, His power, and His peace, Jesus weeps over you.
You see, we are just like the Jerusalem that Jesus was riding into. Though we have encountered Him in profound and powerful ways, we often drift away from Him. Just like God’s people drifted back then. Today, would you open your heart to Jesus? Today, would you turn to Him with the fullness of surrender and repentance? Today, would you open your arms, open your heart, and welcome the One who is right there at your very doorstep? Jesus weeps over you and all that you are going through. Let’s turn to Him today and receive all the love and grace that He desires to give us. Let’s stop running FROM Jesus, and let’s run TO Him. Let the tears of Jesus melt your cold, distant heart, and let His peace wash over you once again. Jesus weeps for you. That’s God’s Word for you today.
