“It’s All About Jesus!”

“Everyone Is Looking For Jesus”

“Everyone is looking for you.” That phrase jumped off the page at me today. Everyone IS looking for Jesus. Even when they don’t know it’s Jesus they’re looking for!
Simon Peter said it to Jesus because there were people who had seen Him heal and cast out demons and wanted to see more. Others may have simply heard about His miracles and wanted to come and see for themselves. But what most of them didn’t know was that Jesus was the one that their HEARTS were looking for! He wasn’t just a magician with a really cool bag of tricks. He wasn’t just a wise sage with some pretty profound thoughts. He was more than just a doctor who could cure all manner of disease. He was The One who completes us and scratches the Divine Itch that is within each of us.
Jesus is The One whom we are ALL looking for. He is The One who can tell us who we really are and help us claim our true sense of identity. I’m always amused when people say that they need to “go find themselves.” No, you don’t! You don’t need to go anywhere. Jesus has come to YOU! He made us. He shaped us. Who you are flows out of who He is!
The same is true of that deep, nagging question, “Why am I here?” Jesus is the one who holds the key to the purpose and meaning of your life. That’s why success won’t do it, money won’t satisfy, and your 15 minutes of fame won’t be enough. It was Jesus who helped the disciples discover that they weren’t just fishermen, but that they were “fishers OF men.” Their lives had more significance than they ever imagined. And so does YOURS!
And Jesus is the Only One who can meet your deepest need for love. Some of us go from relationship to relationship looking for Mr. or Miss Right. Sadly, we discover, they don’t exist! Jesus is the Only One who can love you FULLY, UNCONDITIONALLY, and ETERNALLY. In fact, one of the greatest mistakes we’ll ever make is expecting another human being to fill the love-need in our lives that only Jesus can fill.
Everyone really IS looking for Jesus. Many just don’t know that it’s Him they’re looking for. Do YOU? That’s God’s Word for you today.
