Powerful Words from the Prophets
“This is what the LORD says—the LORD who made the earth, who formed and established it, whose name is the LORD: Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come.” – Jeremiah 33:2-3 (NLT)

“Information or Revelation”
I have to confess to you that the whole AI (Artificial Intelligence) thing scares me. And it scares me for LOTS of reasons. Let me just talk about one of those reasons today. Though AI can give us a ton of information, it can’t give us the One Thing that I think we need the most. Revelation. AI can’t tell us what God thinks. And what God thinks is vital.
In our passage today, God invites Jeremiah to seek Him and ask Him about what’s coming and what he ought to do. That’s revelation. God is telling Jeremiah that only He can reveal things that Jeremiah doesn’t understand and couldn’t possibly know. AI could have told Jeremiah about what’s going on or what has happened in the past. But it couldn’t tell Jeremiah what God was up to or what God was going to do in the future. Only God can reveal that. AI can give you some good ideas about things. But God can give you Divine Ideas that have His blessing.
Remember when Moses was up on the mountain some years after fleeing Egypt for killing a man? God spoke to Moses through a burning bush and told him to go back to Egypt, walk into the court of the most powerful king on earth, and tell him to let God’s people go. That’s called a Divine Idea. Moses would never have thought that idea up, no matter how long he would have been up there. And I promise you, AI would have never come up with it either. To know God’s will, follow God’s path, do God’s work, and see God’s power, you have to seek God!
I remember a couple of years ago, I was wrestling with a pretty important issue. I wasn’t sure how to handle it. So as I walked and prayed that week, I confessed my ignorance to God and asked for His guidance. Boom! God gave me an idea in that time of prayer that I acted on, and the result was beyond whatever I could have asked or imagined. God continues to humble and amaze me.
Please hear my heart. I think the unbelievable opportunity that we have in this life is the one that we take for granted the most and utilize the least. To seek the heart and mind of God and let Him speak into our lives and decisions. James 1:5 says, “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you.” I couldn’t agree more. If you need some information, feel free to ask AI. But if you need answers, wisdom, or guidance about anything of substance, seek God. He’ll give you what AI can’t. Revelation. That’s God’s Word for you today.
