Walking Through the Psalms
“I will give you the land of Canaan as your special possession.” He said this when they were few in number, a tiny group of strangers in Canaan. – Psalm 105:11-12 (NLT)
“God Can Do a Lot with Just a Little”

“God Can Do a Lot with Just a Little”
Say this out loud: “God can do a LOT with just a LITTLE.” I want you to make that your mantra for today. We often look at the job, the need, the problem, or the odds. But what we forget to look at is God! Our verse today reminds us that God took a little rag-tag group of nomads and made them the most powerful nation on the face of the earth. NOTHING could stop them.
When you read the history of their conquest of the Promised Land, you see how other kingdoms, which were far more powerful, trembled in fear when they saw them coming. But it wasn’t because of their military expertise or their advanced weaponry. It was because “the battle belongs to the Lord.” God can do a lot with a little!
God took little Gideon and made him a conquering hero. God took little Abraham and gave birth to a nation. God took little Moses and brought down Egypt. God took little Joseph and made him the rescuer of a country. And God took a little baby and made Him the Savior of the world!
What’s your “little” that you need God to do something with today? Maybe you need to give God your little strength and let Him make it more than enough to get through whatever it is that you’re dealing with. Maybe you need God to take your little amount of money and make it enough to cover your needs. Maybe you need God to take your little mind and make it wise enough to solve the problem you can’t seem to find an answer to. Maybe you need God to take your little faith and make it big enough to believe what He can do when it seems all is lost.
Jesus took a few fish and a couple of loaves of bread, fed over five thousand people, and still had leftovers for all the disciples. Jesus took a few jars of water and made them into enough wine to cover a wedding reception. Jesus took a few ignorant, uneducated fishermen and made them into the foundation of The Church. God can do a lot with a little. Why not give Him a chance to see what He can do with little YOU? That’s God’s Word for you today.
