“It’s All About Jesus!”
Jesus & the Harvest (Matt 9:35-38)
“When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” – Matthew 9:36 (NLT)
“Confused And Helpless”
Jesus & the Harvest (Matt 9:35-38)
“When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” – Matthew 9:36 (NLT)
“Confused And Helpless”
There are two words in our passage that aren’t just descriptive of the people Jesus ministered to. They are descriptive of US. They are descriptive of the turbulent times we live in and the circumstances that many of us are going through. “Confused and helpless.”
When we were in North Carolina last weekend, just listening to people talk about what they and their families saw and experienced was overwhelming. Entire homes were washed away. No power. No water. No cell service. Hundreds of people still unaccounted for. The repair and rebuilding will take YEARS. “Confused and helpless.”
The people in Florida were just hit this week with yet another hurricane. People who were still cleaning up from Helene that hit two weeks ago are cleaning up and picking up the pieces AGAIN. People are exhausted from the work and stress of it all. “Confused and helpless.”
There are families who have loved ones slipping into eternity. There are people who have lost jobs and are trying to figure out where to turn and what to do. There are people who are overwhelmed by having to care for their children AND their aging parents. Life is HARD. “Confused and helpless.”
If those words fit YOU today, our Jesus is here for you. He is compassionate toward all you’re going through. He tells us that it is for the confused and helpless that He has come. He is here to guide you. He is here to comfort you. He is here to strengthen you. He’s your Lord, your Shepherd, and your Friend. He is your steadiness through these turbulent times. That’s God’s Word for you today.
