“It’s All About Jesus!”
Jesus & the Harvest (Matt 9:35-38)
“Jesus traveled through all the towns and villages of that area, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness.” – Matthew 9:35 (NLT)

“The Healer”
I made a new friend while I was in North Carolina. His name is Henry. We found out as we talked that we had a lot in common. It’s amazing for me sometimes to just sit and listen to someone’s story. One of the things Henry told me was that he shouldn’t be here. When I asked him what he meant, he told me about a time when he was really sick, and his body began to shut down. His major organs were failing, and the doctors had no idea how to stop it. They finally said there was nothing they could do and were basically just trying to make him comfortable until he died. But he was praying. And so were many others. One morning he woke up and sat up in bed, feeling much better. When the nurse came in to see if he was dead yet, she nearly fell over. She ran to get the doctor. No one could explain it. But we can. It was The Healer.
One of the biggest ways that Jesus made His mark during His time of ministry was through the healings He performed. Our passage today gives a great description of how powerful a ministry it was. “And he healed every kind of disease and illness.” Look at those two words in the middle of that sentence: “Every kind.” The One who made our bodies has the power to heal our bodies, and it doesn’t matter what kind of problem it is. Throughout the Gospels, we see how He healed the blind, the deaf, the mute, the epileptic, the hemorrhaging, the lame, and even THE DEAD! That’s why He’s Jehovah Raphe, The Healer.
Come to Him today with whatever your need. He can heal your broken body. He can heal your broken heart. He can repair your damaged emotions. It doesn’t matter what stage your cancer is in. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve carried your wounds. It doesn’t matter how hopeless the professionals say it is. When the doctors say, “There’s nothing more that we can do,” turn to the one who CAN do something. Jesus is The Healer. That’s God’s Word for you today.
