“It’s All About Jesus!”
Jesus Walks on the Water (Matthew 14)
“But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted. Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?” – Matthew 14:30-31 (NLT)
“He Is Faithful!”

“He Is Faithful!”
Faithful. Is there any better word we could use to describe our God? The other day as I walked and prayed, I recounted back to the Lord multiple times in my life when He demonstrated that faithfulness to me. Times when He rescued me. Times when He protected me. Times when He guided me. Times when He forgave me. I was humbled to tears as I thought about how the Lord was continually and utterly faithful to me. Even when I wasn’t faithful to Him.
That’s what Jesus demonstrated to Peter in our passage today as well. Peter started out well, but then he took his eyes off Jesus. He lost his focus, he lost his faith, and he lost his footing. Down he went. But as he sank, he cried out to Jesus. Jesus could’ve said, “Don’t call me, YOU’RE the one who lost your faith!” Or He could’ve said, “You’re a big talker but a lousy water-walker, you DESERVE to take a dip!” Or He could’ve simply not responded at all and just left Peter on his own. But He didn’t. Jesus did what Jesus always does. He was FAITHFUL.
Camp on that today. BASK in that today. Some of us may be feeling a bit unsteady and shaky in our faith. We may feel as if we’re sinking and wondering if God is going to respond. Yes, He will! Some of us may be in a desperate place, way in over our heads, and we’re wondering if God really hears us. Yes, He does! Some of us may have failed yet again. In our shame, we may wonder if we’ve tested the grace of God too many times, let Him down too many times, or gone our own way too many times. As we cry out in brokenness, will God still have mercy left for us? Yes, He does! “Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.” – Lamentations 3:23 (NLT) You can count on Him being there for you today. He is FAITHFUL! That’s God’s Word for you today.
