Powerful Words from the Prophets
“They were calling out to each other, ‘Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of Heaven’s Armies! The whole earth is filled with his glory!’” – Isaiah 6:3 (NLT)
“Don’t Miss His Glory!”
“They were calling out to each other, ‘Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of Heaven’s Armies! The whole earth is filled with his glory!’” – Isaiah 6:3 (NLT)
“Don’t Miss His Glory!”
The glory of God. Have you seen it? The Seraphim declared that “The whole earth is filled with his glory!” That means that everywhere we look, we ought to be able to spot the glory of God. Have YOU seen His glory this week? I sat with that thought today. I mean, we KNOW God is everywhere, but do we really see the evidence of His Glory? We do! We just don’t always recognize that it’s Him.
I sat with someone this week who had blown it. They shared with sorrow how they had blown it and were struggling with feelings of shame and unworthiness. But in the midst of that failure, God shows up with the glory of His Grace. Fear is traded for Reassurance. Failure is traded for Forgiveness. Shame is traded for Acceptance. Who among us hasn’t needed God to show up and wash over our lives with that grace? That’s the glory of God!
There is someone I know who was really hurting this week. They were dealing with a broken heart, a broken promise, and the trauma of a broken life. But they found a safe place with some other people who have also dealt with brokenness. It was a safe place to share. It was a safe place to cry. They found themselves surrounded by some godly people who know what it’s like to be in the broken place. They found empathy, healing, and hope. They were in a room filled with the glory of God’s Comfort. God was a lot nearer than they ever even knew.
Yesterday, as I walked and prayed, I was trying to wrap my mind around a problem that I just couldn’t figure out. As I prayed and asked God for understanding, I didn’t receive any. I still have no idea what to do or how to solve it. But what God gave me was His Presence. I felt God draw near and remind me that I don’t have to have all the answers to all the problems. I just have to trust that He will provide a way and make that way known in His Time. His presence gave me peace. As I rested in that and thanked Him for it, my heart was warmed, and the burden I felt was lifted. I didn’t know it in the moment, but that peace was God’s glory.
God’s glory is all around you today. His power, His peace, His healing, His comfort, His strength—they are all right there if you’ll look. His glory is not always in smoke and fire and attending angels. Sometimes it’s in a scripture that gives you clarity. Sometimes it’s in a friend whose encouraging words are just what you need. Sometimes it is in that sunrise that reminds you that God still sits on His Throne. God is all around us each and every day. Don’t miss His Glory! That’s God’s Word for you today.
