Walking Through the Psalms
“But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble.” – Psalm 59:16 (NIV)
“Lord, I Need Your Strength!”

“Lord, I Need Your Strength!”
“Lord, I need your strength!” Is that your prayer today? It’s mine. Today is another one of those days when I’m made aware of just how much I need the strength of God. It’s not that I don’t need it EVERY DAY; I do! But there are some days that it hits me in the face just how much I need it. There are days when I’m facing decisions that I don’t have nearly enough wisdom to make. There are days when I’m dealing with challenging people, and I don’t have enough patience to deal with them. There are days when the responsibilities just feel too heavy, too complicated, or too overwhelming. Those are the days when I find myself praying that prayer. “Lord, I need your strength!” And you know what? He strengthens me!
God is Faithful. He gives me the Wisdom and Patience I need. He breathes new life and energy into me to keep me going. He’s an AMAZING God! So when I read our verse for today, I resonated with it. How about you? Maybe some of you need God’s Strength today. Maybe there are a few of you who found it almost exhausting to just get out of bed and get going because of the load you’ve been carrying or the struggles you’ve been dealing with. Maybe there are a few of you who are so overwhelmed that you’re not sure you can take one more step. But you CAN. God can give you that strength. Just as He gave it to David and He’s given it to me, He can fill YOU up today as well. Can I pray for you?
“Father, I lift up to you today each one of your weary children who are struggling under the load they are carrying. Their minds are tired. Their bodies are spent. Their emotions are strained. Their souls are dry. They need YOU. Breathe into them, Lord. Let your Life-giving Power flow into them. Sharpen their minds. Renew their bodies. Ease their anxiety. Restore their souls. Let your Holy Spirit flow through them today. What they’re facing may be too big for them, but it’s not too big for You. Fill them with the song of Your Strength and Your Love. You are their Fortress and Refuge in their time of trouble. In the powerful name of Jesus, we pray, Amen!” That’s God’s Word for you today.
