“The LORD is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. For he knows how weak we are; he remembers we are only dust.” – Psalm 103:13-14 (NLT)

“A Father’s Dance of Love”
Little Bella was scared to death. It was her first time performing her ballet routine in public. Even though she was only 2 years old, she knew the routine well. She had practiced at home many times. But now, in front of an audience of parents, families, and friends, she was frozen. While the other little girls moved to the music, she remained rigid. Some parents would have been distressed. Some might have frantically whispered for her to move. Some might have even become angry out of embarrassment. But not Marc Daniels, Bella’s father. Instead, he did something that amazed everyone.
Holding his infant Suri in his arms, he came up on stage at the Motion School of Dance recital and stood beside Bella. He told her that he loved her and that he thought she was an amazing dancer. Then he said, “Would you like to dance with Daddy?” She nodded. So he took her hand, and they performed the routine together as they had so many times before at home. The hearts of the audience absolutely melted as this towering father, with baby in tow, unashamedly joined his tiny daughter and the other little girls in their performance. This was more than a ballet. This was a dance of love.
Your Heavenly Father joins you on your stage as well. On that stage where you are struggling. On that stage where you shake with fear. On that stage where you hang your head in shame at your failure. But your Father is not angry. He is not frustrated, embarrassed, or annoyed. His heart breaks for you, His Child. He comes alongside you today to steady your shaking knees, comfort your fearful heart, and remove your shame. Listen to Him as He whispers to you that He loves you and believes in you. Take His Hand as He reaches it out to you. He offers you His comfort. He offers you His strength. He offers you His grace. He knew that you could not step into His world to be with Him, so He stepped into your world to be with you. Not just to watch you, but to join you. And to teach you His Dance of Love. That’s God’s Word for you today.
