Walking Through the Psalms

“One Amazing Father”
Do you remember being astonished by how strong and amazing your dad was? I do. Dad was able to lift things that I thought couldn’t be lifted. He could open things I didn’t think could be opened. He wasn’t afraid of older kids, stray dogs, or even strangers. He could push that old mower we had around the yard with ease. He could handle heavy tools, move heavy rocks, and open heavy windows. And he could pick me up with almost no effort at all!
Dad could fix things, too. He could make cars run. He could repair busted bikes. He could open a box of an item that had a million parts to it, pull out his screwdriver, and have it all put together in no time at all. I always felt safe around Dad. I felt confident. I knew that whatever I couldn’t do, Dad could. Whatever it was, no matter how big, Dad could handle it. Dad was smart, and Dad was strong.
Our Heavenly Dad is strong, too. REALLY strong. Take a look again at what David said. “You formed the mountains by your power and armed yourself with mighty strength.” Let that thought simmer on your brain for a moment. God put the mountains together. He made these huge, majestic peaks that most of us couldn’t climb if we had DAYS to do so. Yet God can pick them up with His bare hands! So do you really think there’s ANYTHING you’re facing today that He can’t take care of? He can move whatever needs to be moved in your life. He can lift whatever needs to be lifted. He can open whatever it is that needs to be opened for you. He’s Strong.
God is so amazing and smart that He can fix whatever it is that needs to be repaired today as well. He can mend broken hearts, restore broken relationships, and rebuild homes that are falling apart. God can take your life, even if it’s in a million pieces, and put it back together again. If you need Him to, He can pick you right up in His Arms. He’s that strong.
So today, if you’ve been trying to move something that’s too big for you, or you find yourself carrying a burden that’s too heavy for you, or you’re trying to fix something that’s too complicated for you, maybe it’s time to reach out to your Heavenly Father. My guess is that The One who formed the mountains and carved out the world with His bare hands is strong enough to take care of your need. You don’t have to move this, or lift this, or fix this all by yourself. Your Amazing Father is ready to help. Trust Him. He’s Strong and He’s Smart. And like all Good Dads, He loves being strong and smart for YOU! That’s God’s Word for you today.
